Walking to Old Town from Hoi An Odyssey Hotel is a simple affair and at a quick pace can be done in about 10 minutes to the outskirts of the town. Of course, if you want to delve into the middle of the town it will take a lot longer, but getting lost wandering around the beautiful streets of the ancient town is often the aim anyway. There are two main ways to walk to Hoi An Old Town from Hoi An Odyssey Hotel, and they are left or right. Left is the simplest way, and the way that most people follow, while right is a little bit more difficult, but much, much more pretty. Right is the little known secret that I am going to share with you now:
Turning Right – The Slightly More Complicated, But Waaay More Beautiful Path to Old Town Along the River
Step 1: Turn Right
Step 2: Follow the road round by the river until you reach a fork in the road. Take the left hand fork. All of these roads will take you to Old Town but the left hand one is the nicest.
Step 3: Follow the quay along the river toward the bridge. When you get close to the bridge, use a break in the path to move to the inner dirt road.
Step 4: Follow the path up to the bridge
Step 5: Cross the bridge. Enjoy Old Town
